FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The fee on each item in the program is based on the calculated cost of collecting and recycling the materials in the products. The fees collected are used to pay for the collection, transportation and recycling of end-of-life products as well as program administration and education.
ECO Fee’s provides the funding for the safe and responsible management of these products at end-of-life so that they can be diverted from our landfills and waterways. The diverted materials can often be reused, or recycled, thereby conserving our natural resources.
Many day-to-day products can also be harmful when they reach end-of-life, if improperly disposed of. By returning your products to the appropriate recycling location, you can be sure they will be safely and responsibly managed.

At Nedco, we are committed to doing our part in protecting the environment and promoting sustainability within our company but also for our customers. As part of this focus, we do want to inform you that as of March 15, 2023, all Ontario locations will begin to comply with Ontario Regulations 522/20 which requires us as a distributor to implement an eco fee for all lamp / light bulb orders. An outline of these fees and when they apply, as well as an FAQ section will follow this message.
These fees are collected and remitted back to the province as per the Ontario regulation 522/20. Lamp recycling will be offered to Nedco customers at no extra cost through our partnership with Product Care and is available at select branch locations across the province. Please note this program applies to lamps and light bulbs only, and we will accept all lamp types however fixtures, ballasts, string lights and other lighting products will not be accepted at this time.
